The Faculty of Theology in Trier in its present form was established on June 5, 1950, by Pope Pius XII as a pontifical university under papal law at the Priest's Seminary in Trier. The grand opening took place on September 30, 1950. We are therefore delighted to be able to look back on 75 fruitful years of faculty history and celebrated this anniversary on November 14 and 15, 2025.
