75th anniversary of the Trier Faculty of Theology

The Faculty of Theology in Trier in its present form was established on June 5, 1950, by Pope Pius XII as a pontifical university under papal law at the Priest's Seminary in Trier. The grand opening took place on September 30, 1950. We are therefore delighted to be able to look back on 75 fruitful years of faculty history and celebrated this anniversary on November 14 and 15, 2025.

On November 14, 2025, the Faculty of Theology held a ceremony featuring a keynote speech by Father Dr. Anselm Grün OSB, in the main lecture hall of Trier University.
On November 15, the Dies academicus of the Faculty of Theology in Trier took place in the Promotionsaula of the Priests' Seminary.
