Certificates

What certificates do we offer?

The certificate programs offer the opportunity to acquire key qualifications relevant to one's profession, in this case: a theological background and overview for social professions or for legal practice. The certificate program does not replace a full degree in theology or a degree in theology as part of teacher training.

Who is the certificate program aimed at, and how can the certificate benefit future job applications?

The supplementary certificate in „Theologie und Soziales“ (Theology and Social Affairs) is aimed at students enrolled at Trier University and the Faculty of Theology in Trier, particularly in the following areas: educational sciences, psychology, social work, and various teaching subjects. It can be particularly useful for work in charitable institutions, life counseling, youth welfare, school social work, prevention, and youth welfare offices.

The supplementary certificate in „Theologie und Recht“ (Theology and Law) is primarily aimed at students enrolled in law at the University of Trier. It can be particularly useful for work in various advisory roles, for example in business or on ethics committees, and in the legal departments of dioceses and officialates.

The certificate attests that participants have gained insight into the many facets of Catholic theology. This demonstrates their commitment and knowledge, making them attractive to future employers.
