The Hieronymus Award is given out every three years for an outstanding dissertation in theology (prize money: €2,000). The prize commemorates Jerome (†420), the great Bible translator and patron of the faculty, who received part of his education in Trier. The prize is sponsored by „Freunde und Förderer der Theologischen Fakultät Trier e. V.”
